Today we had a definitions test.
We watched more of the video on Global Warming.

We learned that: Global warming refers to rising temperatures across the planet. This is caused by a rise in Greenhouse gasses such as Carbon Dioxide. Greenhouse gasses are released when fossil fuels are burned. The problem with Global warming is that it will lead to global flooding and climate change that will effect ecosystems

Today we talked about the Transport of water and food in plants.
New words:
Xylem - is a vessel that transports water and minerals in plants.
Phloem - is a vessel that transports food in plants.
Transpiration - is the way water moves through a plant (in the roots, up the shoot, out the leaves).

Definitions
Ch.1 Measurement
Length is distance (m)
Area is surface space (metres squared).
Volume is the amount of space an object takes up (metres cubed).
Mass is the amount of matter in an object (Kg).
Matter is anything that takes up space and has mass.

Leaf - Photosynthesis, Gasoeus exchange, Transpiration
Root - Intake water and minerals, Anchor plant, Store food
Flower - Reproduction
Stem - Transport of water and food
