Started Chemistry - The Atom.

An Atom is the the smallest part of an element which still maintains the properties of that element.

We learned also that:
  • Protons are found in the nucleus, have a positive charge and a mass of 1 atomic  mass unit.
  • Neutrons are found in the nucleus, have no charge and a mass of 1 atomic mass unit.
  • Electrons are found orbiting the nucleus, have a negative charge and a mass 1/1840 atomic mass units.

Wrote up Photosynthesis experiment.
Set up Photo-tropism and Geo-tropism investigations.

Started Chapter 16 on Micro-organisms.

A Micro-organism is a small living thing such as a bacteria, fungus, protist or virus.

Micro-organisms can be killed by
  • Very hot or cold conditions
  • Strong acids or bases
