Started Chemistry - The Atom.
An Atom is the the smallest part of an element which still maintains the properties of that element.
We learned also that:
An Atom is the the smallest part of an element which still maintains the properties of that element.
We learned also that:
- Protons are found in the nucleus, have a positive charge and a mass of 1 atomic mass unit.
- Neutrons are found in the nucleus, have no charge and a mass of 1 atomic mass unit.
- Electrons are found orbiting the nucleus, have a negative charge and a mass 1/1840 atomic mass units.
